The wise face of Annie Blue, Togiak's landmark Walrus Islands and a nod to the historical roots of the Bristol Bay fishery have their places in the 25-foot mural painted by James and Andi HAVENS at the new Togiak High School.

"We wanted to tie in the rich cultural history of Togiak and include images and people that the community could recognize as unique to Togiak," said Andi HAVENS. "If you have ever been to Togiak, then you understand the unique beauty of the surrounding wilderness as well as the warmth and kindness of its people. From Anne Blue to the view of Togiak Bay, it is our hope that this mural will provide inspiration and pride to this and future generations of children and adults alike who visit the school."

The Togiak Art Commission funded the work by the artists of HAVENS Studio & Gallery in Anchorage, which was completed over a three-month period last summer.
