“ I think for a pterosaur as large as this one I would be conservative with a head crest. There is a report of a smaller species of Quetzalcoatlus from southern Alberta, based on a neck vertebra. Therefore, I would probably model the head of your animal more after the reconstructions for Quetzalcoatlus, and less like Pteranodon.” - Tony Fiorillo
as its glides over Denali, Alaska 75 million years ago. Below on the river bank, a herd of hadrosaurs leaves the trackway’s in the mud that will one day be discovered in what is now Denali National Park, Alaska.
“Denali Pterosaur, Cretaceous Alaska” features a pterosaur that left a hand impression around 75 million years ago and was discovered in Denali National Park, Alaska in July of 2009. The discovery marked the first confirmed documentation of pterosaurs this far north and is a hallmark in regards to Alaskan paleontology.
By the recommendations of the noted “Tony Fiorillo” The pterosaur was modeled after a Quetzalcoatlus Sp., a smaller version of the giant found in Texas shown below at the Houston Museum of Natural History.
